Polytetraflouroethylene (TFE) and Kynar are both experiencing long lead times.

PTFE - Polytetrafluoroethylene  product PTFE (TFE) along with PVDF  manufacturing requires a mineral called Fluorspar that is mined in Mongolia and China. The world need for this mineral has grown significantly, and also the supply has tightened. PTFE materials have high heat resistance, excellent chemical resistance and extremely low co-efficient of friction (slippery) and is used throughout a good deal of purposes from non-stick fry pans to ptfe tape for personal use. This particular mineral is the key raw material in the production of fluoropolymers, fluorolubricants and a lot of refrigerants. This rise in demand combined with shortage of raw materials has caused a dramatic price increase (almost double during the last year), shortages, and we expect both these factors to stay in affect in the near future.
